I was just wondering yesterday...
what if we use Serial to ethernet / wifi conversion on a modded DC- dialup modem?

After seeing SD-readers for DC working, I think this could really work... I'm n ot sure about the speed but I think this could work better than the original.

Lo mas cercano que un Dreamcast se conecte por wifi es atravez del aparato WiFi SD Cards: Eye-Fi Memory Cards. Seguro que si existen alguna libreria por la red se pondria a trabajar en este esperimento de conección, aunque la libreria de KOS no es compatible con NotePad++ se buscaria otra solucion...

por serial por supuesto que se podría conectar por wifi o ethernet, el tema es hacer código para que el kallistios lo tome. Con los juegos comerciales, la cosa debe ser mas dificil, habría que patchearlos.
De la página japonesa que tenía los diagramas de la sd, hay un diagrama de un lan adapter serial.

Ya tenemos un adaptor de SD que es facil de comprarlo, que meter manos a un proyecto que no se sabe a ciencia cierta si funcionamiento es optimo, esto seria un suicidio.

En mi punto de vista el SD Card WiFi es lo mas cercano y economico para que nuestras Dreamcast usen la red. Sin embargo al no tener los codigos de los manejadores del aparato no se podria utilizar este recurso. salu2

but the idea was just hacking the default dialup modem, cha gint it into a wi-fi modem, so the games would believe it's just the dial-up, but it would be converted into wi-fi.

I didn't mean to use the serialport. but the G2 instead. as seen in the video, we can keep the sega's chip and remove the dial-up stuff, and this way maybe we could "lie" to the games.

the main problem is to identify what is sent to the modem chip and redirect a converted signal to wi-fi
